WHAT NAME ARE YOU GIVING JESUS??

I was reading Perry Nobel's blog http://www.perrynoble.com/ and he has a post that talks about "Ten Signs You are becoming Normal".

Disclaimer: This post is primarily my take on his post.

As Christians, our goal for living life is very simple, to be like Jesus! To show people the Love of Jesus through our lives. Yet today Christians are not known for this, instead we are known for being hypocritical, un-caring, prideful, and pushy.

Well, I don't read anywhere in the Bible where Jesus was hypocritical, un-caring, or pushy for His own selfish desires.

How do these traits look in our daily lives?
Hypocritical: We say we believe in Jesus, but we are no different then we were before Christ. Or we tell people that they should not drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes, or watch R rated movies or even worse, PORN!!! (Which probably is good advice) yet we miss several things here. How does telling somone not to do these things bring somone closer to God? Especially when they find out later that you are a social drinker or smoker? or that your favorite movie is Gladiator featuring Russle Crowe? The issue is simply your focus point. Are you living to bring honor to God or man?

Un-Caring: many people would say that Christians are un-caring hypocrits. I kinda have to agree with them at some point. As a whole, WE ARE!!! We stand out on the street corner with our signs that say "Repent or burn!!" (first of all, what does the word "repent" even mean to a non-believer?)

Pridful/ Pushy: Or we wear our Christian t-shirts that basically tell our society that what they are doing is wrong and God hates them for it. Like the "God Squad" shirt taken after the Best Buy "Geek Squad." or one of my favorite ones "Jesus is watching you smoke that weed" with a picture of Jesus next to the writing. (AS IF THIS IS REALLY THE WAY TO SHOW OTHERS THE LOVE OF CHRIST! I think we put Jesus out there and make him look like a guy who hates life, fun, hanging out, or even socializing with people un-like Himself.

JESUS WAS EVERYTHING TO ALL PEOPLE! STOP GIVING JESUS A BAD NAME BECAUSE YOUR UNCOMFORTABLE WITH THE WAY THINGS ARE GOING!

YOU DON'T NEED TO JOIN IN, BUT YOU DEFINATELY DON'T NEED TO PLAY THE "JESUS" CARD WHEN YOU FEEL WEIRD.
