LEADERSHIP, NOT USED TO MUCH ANYMORE!

I have been reading some leadership books, and blogs lately. I feel that leadership is one of those things that many people over-look as they think about how a church functions. We get so wrapped up in finding a "senior pastor" to bring us the Word of God, that we don't even think about finding somone to cast a vision. This [I believe] is the reason that our churches aren't functioning correctly (serving their community, growing, discipling others, and ultimately bringing "the people who don't know Jesus; and introducing them to Jesus" It's just amazing to me that we [Christians] think that it is ok to just be comfortable with where we are at.
This also flows into other ministries. This flows into youth ministries, and this is why we find so many churches with a youth ministry that doesn't seem to even be connected with the church. I can't help but think and say: WE NEED TO START FOCUSING ON LEADERSHIP IN OUR CHURCHES BEFORE WE START WORRYING ABOUT SPECIFIC ROLES (PASTOR, YOUTH DIRECTOR/PASTOR, ASST. PASTOR, ETC.)

I like what Perry Noble has to say about this in his blog.

You can check it out at http://www.perrynoble.com/ the title of this specific one is 10 Characteristics of Growing Churches

I highly recommend this post for all leaders in the church. To help them think about what is needed to really lead your church, and to help your church to takes steps so that God can use your church!
